PedalPanel Content Policy
Last updated
We accept any ad that follows Australian advertising law and is suitable for screens seen by the public, including children, on Sydney's streets.
How review works
A person checks every ad before it runs. We approve it, ask for changes, or reject it, and we always tell you why. Ads must follow the Australian Consumer Law, the AANA Code of Ethics, and any industry rules for the product advertised, such as alcohol and medicines rules.
What we don't accept
Our own rules, because our screens ride on delivery bikes and are seen by everyone:
- Food delivery platforms and apps, such as Uber Eats or DoorDash, or any ad that criticises, mocks or compares itself with them. Restaurants and cafés advertising themselves are welcome.
- Political ads, including election material, parties, candidates and campaigns on political issues.
- Gambling, including betting, casinos, lotteries and gaming venues.
- Adult content, including sexual products or services and sexually suggestive images.
- Vaping and tobacco products and shops.
Anything unlawful or harmful, including ads that:
- are false, misleading or make claims you can't back up,
- use images, logos, music references or people without permission,
- discriminate against, or vilify, any person or group,
- show violence, weapons, drugs or dangerous behaviour,
- promote illegal products or services,
- could distract or confuse road users, for example by looking like a traffic sign or signal.
Welcome, with conditions
| Category | Conditions |
|---|---|
| Alcohol (bottle shops, bars, breweries) | Follows the ABAC alcohol advertising code: no appeal to under-18s, no link to driving or risky behaviour, and a responsible drinking message where the code asks for one. |
| Health, beauty and fitness (clinics, gyms, cosmetic services, supplements) | No promised results or misleading health claims. Medicines and medical devices follow the TGA advertising rules. |
| Nightlife and dating | Nothing sexual or suggestive. Venues must be lawful and licensed. |
| Religious, charity and community groups | Welcome, as long as the ad isn't political or attacking another group. |
| Prices, sales and specials | Prices must be accurate and conditions clear. Time-limited offers should say when they end. |
| Comparisons with competitors | Must be true and fair. Never with food delivery platforms. |
If we can't approve your ad
- We ask for changes first when a fix is simple, for example removing a claim or adding a condition to an offer.
- If we reject it, you can upload a new image or cancel. Cancelling before your ad starts gets you a full refund, or releases the hold on your card, depending on how you paid.
- We can remove an ad that's already running if we find it breaks this policy or the law, or we receive a valid complaint. If the ad was approved and compliant, you'll get credit or a refund for the plays not shown.
- Your responsibility. You're responsible for having the rights to everything in your ad and for its claims being true. Our approval doesn't mean we've checked those things for you.
- Questions about whether an ad will be accepted: email admin@pedalpanel.com before you buy.
